Focal Tech Company Terms

Thank you for your interest in our products. Please take note of our terms before booking a demonstration session or making a payment to us as it contains crucial information regarding everything in- and excluded in prices. By entering our premises or accepting any of our Invoices, quotes, estimates, down payment contracts, online purchase invoices or replacement agreements, the buyer is bound by the company terms of Stampology (Pty) Ltd t/a Focal Tech. We reserve the right to modify the contents and prices of this website or discontinue any product at any time and without any prior notice. It is the buyer's responsibility to monitor changes to our website. Please note that as from 15/10/19 15% VAT will be added to all prices. We try to keep our website updated, but please ask for a quotation for final pricing. 

Demonstration Sessions (free of charge, weekends & after hours until 19:00 welcome, done by appointment only)

Demonstrations (to be done at our premises and by appointment only) will be done at the buyer's own risk. Please note that our premises are not child-friendly. We do ask that you please inform us well in advance if you wish to cancel your session as we have a lot of people who want to come for demonstrations. Demonstrations will take 30 min to 1 hour to complete. Clients are welcome to bring their own material/samples/files for testing, but please inform us in advance what type of material it will be and what you want to use it for. Files must be in one of the following formats (No JPEG/PNG format images from the internet or Pinterest please): .dxf, .cdr (Coreldraw), .ai (Adobe Illustrator), .svg, .pdf, .eps. Please advise in advance if you are not able to provide one of these files and send it to us (info@focaltech.co.za) for conversion in preparation for the demonstration session (at least 3 days in advance). No laser/vinyl cutting material supplier or laser/vinyl ready template will be disclosed/supplied during the demonstration session as it is included in the package price.

Payments/Imports:

Invoices, quotes, and estimates are only valid for seven (7) days and the quotation process will be repeated after 7 days. This time limit will be excluded on the down payment option. All our machines are imported individually. Full amount is payable upfront. Once amount reflects in our account product order and preparations will commence. Should we need to order/import a requested machine/part, full machine price is payable upfront (unless otherwise instructed by Stampology (Pty) Ltd t/a Focal Tech) and delivery to our premises will usually be within 2-3 weeks (FT3020, FT5030, all vinyl cutters, all heat presses and spare parts not kept in stock). Although the FT3020, FT5030, vinyl cutters, heat presses, UV Printers and spare parts will be imported via air freight, waiting time may take a bit longer than 2-3 weeks as there might be some delays during importation and at the South African Customs Department that are out of our control. Waiting time for the FT7050, FT9060 and FT1490 will be 8-12 weeks from the date of payment received. An additional R29 000 VAT Incl will be charged if a buyer wants the FT7050, FT9060 or FT1490 within 3-4 weeks. This may also take a bit longer. Importation processes of products ordered during the last 2 weeks of November and January may be prolonged during the festive seasons in December (local) and February (international suppliers). 

We are under no obligation to disclose any information regarding our suppliers or importation tracking numbers. This applies for all our products and spare parts. We will keep the buyer updated of importation progress on a frequent basis. Tracking numbers will only be supplied once a parcel has been collected from our premises to be delivered to the buyer's premises. Items (including machines, materials or spare parts) will only be released/importation process will only start once the amount is paid in full and reflects in our account. If paying from a different bank, please allow 1-2 business days for the money to reflect in our account (EFT/card payments). Card facilities are available. We do not offer rental/rent-to-own options, but we do have a 6-month down payment option available (please click here for more info) or financing can be arranged by the buyer with any of the major banks in S.A. 

Refunds/Exchanges:

No refunds or exchanges will be allowed after a specific machine/part has been ordered from our manufacturer or during the importation process. As already mentioned all our machines are imported individually. Waiting time for the FT3020, FT5030, all vinyl cutters and combo deals will be between 2-3 weeks from date of full payment received (air freight). Waiting time for the FT7050, FT9060 and FT1490 will be between 8-12 weeks from the date of full payment received (sea shipping) or 3-4 weeks at an additional cost of R25 000 (air freight). This time period may be prolonged due to delays at customs that are out of our control. No immediate refunds will be issued during this waiting period. We reserve the right to complete the importation process and find a new buyer for the specific machine involved before a full refund can be offered to the original buyer. This may also take some time.

It is the buyer’s responsibility to ensure that the correct machine is purchased for specific needs and that specific material types are tested before a machine is purchased as no exchanges/trade-ins are allowed. Please take note of possible limitations that machines may/may not have before purchasing a machine. Buyers are welcome to send/bring material samples to us for testing before a purchase decision is made. We do encourage buyers to book a demonstration session before a purchase decision is made. 

Pre-Delivery/Collection Testing & Quality Control:

We reserve the right to test and repair any faults on machines caused by importation process (if any) before releasing a machine to the buyer. Due to the fragile nature of these machines (CO2 Laser Cutters & CO2 Laser Tubes), manhandling of the crates/packages during the importation process may cause some small scratches on the paint of the machine body or other components. This, however, does not happen frequently, but we will always ensure that the machine will be released in a good, working condition. We will gladly repaint the small scratches on machines at extra cost to the buyer as these scratches do not inhabit machine and mechanical functioning in any way. Should there be any damage that inhabits the machine and mechanical functioning in any way, we reserve the right to repair/replace the affected part/s before releasing a machine to the buyer. Waiting period may apply. Please note that machines/accessories may vary in colour and shape. Machines, spares or accessories may also not be distributed in original packaging. For optimal product satisfaction buyers are urged to view and inspect the machine (new or demo model) for themselves before it is collected/booked for delivery (photos/video clips of the purchased machine can also be sent to the buyer. Please feel free to enquire). The purchased machine will be tested in the presence of the buyer. A quality control checklist will be completed and signed by both the distributor and buyer on the day of collection. Should the buyer not be able to inspect the machine in person, a video clip will be sent confirming proper machine condition. Another collection date will be confirmed In the event of a power failure where machines cannot be tested in the presence of the buyer. 

Collection of Machines at our premises

Loading/unloading of machinery at our premises will be done at the buyer's own risk. Please bring extra help when collecting machines as they weigh between 30-600 kg. We do not accept any responsibility for any injuries or damage during machine collection/transportation on/from our premises. A collection agreement must be signed by both the buyer and seller before a machine is loaded onto the buyer's vehicle. The FT5030, FT7050, FT9060, FT1490 CO2 Laser Cutters/Engravers and FTV54 Vinyl Cutter will not be able to fit in a Class B vehicle. Please arrange accordingly. Also please ensure that there is a means of covering the machine/crate in case of rain/thunderstorms and that machine is safe and secure as the warranty does not cover any water damage or damage sustained during transportation from our premises. Insurance arrangements are to be done by the buyer.

Machine Delivery, Installation, and Training at buyer's premises

Delivery (This will be done with a courier company at extra cost to the buyer and can be arranged by us or the buyer)

  • This will be at extra cost to the buyer (R1800 - R15 000 VAT incl and including insurance, depending on machine size and delivery address). 
  • Online purchase invoices on this website will exclude delivery prices.
  • A waybill/tracking number will be sent to buyer after the parcel has been book for collection from our premises. 
  • Photos/video clips that was taken of the purchased machine before it was collected by courier will also be available to be viewed by the buyer on Dropbox. Please feel free to enquire about this.
  • Your package will not be handled by only one person once it has been collected from our premises. Packages/Crates may be loaded and unloaded anywhere from 4-15 times in and out of up to 5 different trucks or rail containers. 
  • Please note that courier delivery to the buyer's premises may be on the same day as the booking date, but may also take up to 5 business days.
  • Delivery time/date arrangements are between the courier company and the buyer as we do not have any control of their processes.
  • Any compliments/complaints regarding courier company services/drivers should be taken up with the courier company.
  • Also, ensure that there are enough hands to help the courier driver unload the machine as it is quite heavy. 
  • We strongly advise that the FT7050, FT9060 and FT1490 laser cutters are unloaded with a forklift (to be arranged by the buyer). 

Installations/training sessions that are required to be done at the buyer's premises shall be treated as follow (Initial basic machine training/installation sessions shall be done free of charge at our premises):

  • Machine delivery shall still be done by a courier company and will automatically include insurance (at extra cost to the buyer). Please note that courier delivery to the buyer's premises may take up to 5 business days. A video of proper machine functioning will be available. Please enquire. 
  • All other travel expenses (petrol charged at R7 p/km, toll money, accommodation, flight tickets, car rental, etc) will be charged at extra cost to the buyer.
  • Machine delivery and installation/training session costs shall be included in the invoice as a single amount. 
  • Training shall only commence once the machine has been delivered, unloaded by the buyer and in its correct place/position.
  • We reserve the right to assess the delivery location for the safety of our technician/staff. Should we feel that a certain delivery address/location will be unsafe for our technician, we shall arrange for the training session to be done at our own premises. 

    Basic Machine Training 

    We prefer to have our training sessions on an one-on-one basis, but are willing to do it over Skype or Video call as well. However, should this be the case software installations and machine initialization are to be done by the buyer and we do not accept any responsibility for any malfunctions or faults caused by miscommunications or misunderstandings.

    Basic machine training sessions are not compulsory, however, we strongly advise buyers to make use of it. The basic machine training session will be free of charge at out premises, provided it is done within 7 days (by appointment) of receiving a machine. Should a buyer decide to do basic machine training after the first 7 days of receiving a machine, we will charge an hourly rate of R520/hour VAT Incl or the complete basic machine training session shall be done at an once off fee of R1750 VAT Incl. 

    It is advised that the basic machine training for Combo packages shall be done on two separate dates as it is a lot of information to take in. For practical reasons, we limit the basic training session to a max. of 4 hours (7 hours for combo deals). Any extra training required that takes longer than 4 hours (7 hours for combo deals) will be at an extra cost of R520/hour VAT Incl. We will repeat the complete basic machine training session at R1750 VAT Incl (to be done at our premises). Please make alternative arrangements for childcare during the training session as we need the buyer's full attention. Our premises is also not child-friendly. 

    Training shall be given for third-party machines (machines not purchased from us, including online purchases/imports) at R4300 VAT Incl for a 3 hour session and will be done at our premises and on our machines only. Please note that our machines will differ from other machines, but all CO2 Laser Cutters work on the same principle. Thus, we will provide a user manual of our machines. This is also mentioned under the Third-Party Machines Section of our Company Terms. 

    Basic Machine Training Includes:

      The basic machine training session will include coverage of the machine components/functions, how to work with your newly purchased laser/vinyl cutter, how to import your designs to the machine (Whisperer/LaserCAD/ArtCut), installation of included software on buyer's own computer (excluding third-party machine training), common machine errors and how to fix it, testing machine in the buyer's presence and making a small sample. 

      Basic Machine Training Excludes:

      The basic machine training session does not include training on designing (CorelDraw/Inkscape/any other designing software) or testing of materials (testing of materials should be done before a machine is purchased). The learning process of designing (CorelDraw/Inkscape or any other designing software) is the buyer’s own responsibility, but we will also provide links of downloadable laser/vinyl ready templates that are for free/can be purchased (no designing experience needed). Please note that we are not the owners of these websites (local & international). Any troubles/malfunctions/queries regarding these websites or file formats should be taken up with the owners. 

      Important

      We do not guarantee that full production can be started on the first day of receiving a machine as the initial learning process of a new machine requires time, patience and trial-and-error experimentation of settings. Also, remember that different material types require different machine settings and one needs to play around with these settings before orders/production can commence. Please do not take any orders from clients during the importation process and allow at least 3-4 weeks to familiarise yourself with software, machine, and its settings before taking orders from clients or doing sales pitches. No product orders will be done by us on behalf of a buyer during the first 4 weeks of receiving a machine. Guidelines for material settings will be provided, but may vary depending on laser tube strength, vinyl cutter size and material used. A user manual will be provided as well. We can show you the basics, but the best way to learn or improve is to work and play with the machine and program settings yourself. The internet also has many tips and tricks available. Don't be afraid to do your own research. 

      Software Included

      The following software are included in all our packages:

      Machine Software (Training Included):

      1. Whisperer for the FT3020
      2. LaserCAD for the FT5030, FT7050, FT9060 & FT1490
      3. ArtCut for all Vinyl Cutters (requires a CD/DVD Rom Drive)
      4. No Software required for Flatbed Heat Press
      5. AcroRip English Version for all Flatbed UV Printers

      Designing Software (Training Excluded):

      1. Inkscape for the FT3020 and all Vinyl Cutters
      2. CorelDraw Home & Student Suite (legit & licensed version) for the FT5030, FT7050, FT9060 & FT1490 and all UV Printers. Should the buyer want a full version of CorelDraw, we will ask a once-off fee of R7900 or an annual subscription fee of R2000/a for the full program.

      Important:

      1. The learning of designing software is the buyer's own responsibility. We will provide training on design software at R450/h. 

      Minimum Computer Requirements

      Please bring your own laptop (not included in price) to the training session so that the included programs can be installed and tested for you. A good understanding of computer literacy is necessary. 

      • The included machine software are not compatible with any other operating system than Microsoft Windows.
      • Please ensure that your laptop is updated with latest updates and service packs (32 bit or 64 bit version of Windows 7-10) and in a working condition. We prefer to install the programs on operating systems newer than Windows 7.
      • 2.0 GHz processor (minimum)
      • Antel Core i3/5/7 or AMD Athlon 64
      • 2 GB of RAM (minimum)
      • 40 GB hard drive (with at least 15 GB free space)
      • Microsoft Internet Explorer 11 or higher/any internet browser
      • Microsoft .NET Framework 4.6
      • Available USB 2.0 Hi-Speed compliant port - the FT3020, all vinyl cutters and all UV Printers require a permanent USB connection to a computer during operation.
      • ArtCut (vinyl cutter software) requires a working CD/DVD Rom Drive. 

      After Sales Support: 

      We value the concept of "after sales support". Actions speak louder than words, especially when it comes to after sales support. With modern technology developing everyday we want to make our support system as quick and easy accessible as possible. We offer support on platforms such as Whatsapp, phone calls, SMS messages, Skype, E-mails and TeamViewer Remote Desktop access for any queries/questions.

      Whatsapp/Phone Calls/SMS Messages/E-Mails:

      Buyers are welcome to contact/Whatsapp us with any questions/queries regarding the laser/vinyl cutter & heat press machines, Whisperer, LaserCAD or ArtCut. We will gladly help where we can and as soon as we can.

      We do ask that you will please attach photos or videos of problems/queries where possible as it makes the diagnosis of a problem easier for us. Please note that this type of remote diagnosis is not always successful. If a specific problem cannot be solved on Whatsapp we do ask that you bring the machine to us (at your own expense) or we can come to you for proper inspection (please refer to the Call-Out Support Section). Always refer to the user manual. Most queries are answered in the user manual.

      This support system will be available at the following times (GMT+2):

      • Mon - Fri: 08:00 - 18:00 
      • Sat, Sun, Public Holidays: 08:00 - 12:00 (queries can be made no later than 11:00)
      • We will respond on the following day to queries that was made outside the above mentioned times.
      • Please note that our Whatsapp will always show an "Online Status" and that we will not always be able to respond to queries immediately (although we may have taken notice of it (shown by blue double tick on your message)) as we are also very busy with other demonstration and training sessions. We do value each of our clients and we will respond as soon as we can.
      • Phone calls made outside the above mentioned time slots will unfortunately not be answered. 

      Remote Desktop Support:

      This is support rendered by accessing a specific computer/device from another computer/device with the help of networking or the Internet. It can provide access to the files, applications and network resources associated with the device from the remote device. - https://www.techopedia.com.  In other words: it gives us full access to your computer from a remote location. 

      What is TeamViewer?

      Teamviewer is the preferred program we use to access your computer remotely. It is free, secure and safe to use. TeamViewer needs to be downloaded and installed onto your computer in order for us to remotely gain access to your computer. It can be downloaded directly from the TeamViewer website at https://www.teamviewer.com/. By downloading TeamViewer you are bound by the terms & conditions of TeamViewer. An active internet connection is necessary to use TeamViewer. 

      Terms of Service:

        1. By using this type of service you are willingly giving Stampology (Pty) Ltd t/a Focal Tech permission to access your computer & files remotely. 
        2. TeamViewer will give a random and once-off password for each session. After a specific session has ended we cannot gain access to your computer with the same password. 
        3. We will not install any programs on your computer, make any changes to your operating system or upload any harmful software/viruses. 
        4. We do not take any responsibility for any system errors, loss of data or damage. 
        5. Should there be a need to install a program on your computer, a written permission letter must be signed by you before such programs will be installed by us.
        6. We will not download or share any files from your computer. All sessions will be seen as strictly confidential. 
        7. For your (and our) own safety, all sessions will be recorded both visually and audible.These recorded files will be kept safe on our servers. We will gladly give you access to the recorded files.
        8. Installation of TeamViewer is your own responsibility. 
        9. As already mentioned, by downloading the TeamViewer program you are bound by the terms & conditions of TeamViewer. We are not the owners of this program and any problems or queries related to the installation should be taken up with them. 
        10. Our normal Company Terms will still apply. 
        11. We will only render a remote desktop service by appointment and  once a permission document has been signed to confirm that you are willingly giving us remote access to your computer and files. 
        12. The permission document is only valid for 1 (one) remote desktop support session. Should another session be required, a new permission document will have to be signed by you.
      Our Remote Desktop Service will be rendered at the following times (GMT+2):
      • Mon-Fri: 08:00-16:00
      • Sat: 08:00-12:00 (last session for the day to be started no later than 11:00)
      • Sun & Public Holidays: Not Available. 

      Call-Out Support (fees may apply):

      We will gladly send a technician to the buyer's address for diagnosis/repairs/maintenance. Call-out shall be done by appointment only. Please note that for the safety of our staff, we reserve the right to asses the call-out location. Should we feel that a certain call-out address will be unsafe for our technician, we reserve the right to deny this service. 

      Please note that we will not always be able to send a technician to your premises immediately. A waiting period of one business day may apply. We will however attend to our clients as soon as possible.

      This service will be available by appointment only and at the following times (GMT +2):

      • Mon - Fri: 08:00 - 16:00
      • Sat: 08:00 - 12:00 
      • Sun & Public Holidays: Not Available

      No Call-outs will be done outside these time frames.

      For machines under warranty:

      • No call-out fee will be charged, provided that the call-out address is within a 15km radius from our office. 
      • Should the call-out address be within a bigger radius than 15km from our office, we will charge the buyer petrol money (R7/km x 2 VAT Incl) and toll money (if applicable). Thus, we charge for the distance from our premises to your premises and back. We reserve the right to choose which traffic route to take.
      • Should the call-out address be within a bigger radius than 150km from our office, we will charge the buyer petrol money (R7/km VAT incl), toll money (if applicable), flight tickets (if applicable), car rental (if applicable) and accommodation for our technician (if applicable).

      For machines no longer under warranty & Third Party Machines:

      • Call-out will be charged at R520/hour VAT Incl (R580/hour VAT Incl for third-party machines) for call-out address within a 15km radius from our office and excludes the cost of possible part replacements. 
      • Should the call-out address be within a bigger radius than 15km from our office, we will charge the buyer petrol money (R7/km VAT Incl) and toll money (if applicable).
      • Should the call-out address be within a bigger radius than 150km from our office, we will charge the buyer petrol money (R7/km VAT Incl), toll money (if applicable), flight tickets (if applicable), car rental (if applicable) and accommodation for our technician (if applicable).

      CO2 Laser Cutters/Engravers Important info:

      CO2 Laser Cutter/Engraver Mirror Alignment & Focal Length

      CO2 Laser cutters utilize mirrors and lenses to focus the laser beam onto the material that needs to be cut/engraved. These mirrors need to be aligned manually. It does not matter from which supplier (local/international) the laser cutter was purchased. All CO2 Laser Cutters/Engravers work with mirrors and lenses. Our machines are no exception and we will try our best to align and calibrate the machine properly before releasing it, but it is still your responsibility to make sure that mirrors are aligned properly and the correct focal length is set before a good quality cutting/engraving project can commence. A video of the mirror alignment process will be provided during the basic machine training session. Please be aware that the first mirror alignment can be a timely  and difficult process, but gets easier and quicker with time. We are available on Whatsapp to assist with the first mirror alignment. Mirror alignment may go out a bit during machine transportation and machine usage.

      FT3020 Focal Length:

      The FT3020 has a stationary bed height. Please note that an object with a max. thickness of 4mm can fit in the machine. It is difficult for thicker objects like cutting boards or pocket knives to fit it the machine as it will result in the incorrect focal length being used. An incorrect focal length results in poor quality engraving. The FT3020 does not have the ability to engrave on round objects like glasses or bottles. (No rotary attachment)

      CO2 Laser Tube Maintenance & Replacement costs:

      It is difficult to provide an exact life span period of a CO2 Laser Tube. We always say that a CO2 Laser Tube should have a life span of at least a 1000-1300 working hours. The life span of a CO2 Laser Tube depends on how well a machine is maintained, how often the machine is used, for how long a machine is operational at a time and the tube power settings used. 

      Distilled water should be used as a cooling agent for a CO2 Laser Tube. Normal tap water cannot be used as it contains chemicals that will damage the tube. The use of tap water will result in immediate suspension of the CO2 Laser Tube warranty. Distilled water should be replaced at least once a month, depending on how often the machine is used and material types that are used. The temperature of the distilled water should not be more than 30°C. There should be a continuous flow of distilled water through the tube during machine operation.

      CO2 Tubes cost R4600 - R20 700 VAT incl to replace, depending on the size that is required. A faulty CO2 Laser tube will not suddenly stop functioning, but rather a gradual decrease in tube power will be observed. The buyer should still be able to use the machine with higher tube power settings. A sudden and complete loss of laser tube power is usually an indication of a faulty power supply. Power supply replacement costs are between R4600 - R13 800, depending on the size that is required.

      Please note that we do not keep CO2 laser tubes in stock as it has a shelf life (leakage of the gas inside the tube). Waiting time for CO2 Tubes ordered from us will be between 2-3 weeks from payment received. Please note that importation processes may be prolonged during the festive season in December. 

      Mirror & Lens Maintenance & Replacement Costs:

      As already mentioned, CO2 Laser cutters utilize mirrors and lenses to focus the laser beam onto the material that needs to be cut/engraved. Mirrors and the lens need to be cleaned on a regular basis. The laser head consists of a mirror & a lens. Please note that mirrors & lenses are not covered by machine warranty. Replacement costs are R345 -1730 each, depending on the size that is required.

      • Please note that no supplier name, material costs or laser-ready template will be disclosed if full payment hasn't been received.

      The following items are EXCLUDED from the price:

      Optional Items:

      • Industrial Water Chiller for water cooling. CW-5000 optional for the FT3020 and FT5030. CW-5200 recommended for the FT7050. CW-5200 Included for the FT9060 and FT1490. 
      • Rotary Attachment for engraving on bottles/glasses/rolling pins. Optional for the FT5030, FT7050, FT9060 and FT1490. Please note that the FT3020 does not have the ability to connect a rotary attachment. Please click here for more info. 

      Compulsory Items:

      • Frozen 2-liter water bottles to keep the distilled water cooled (if a water chiller was not purchased)
      • Laser Cutting Material - MDF (avoid dark/oily material, preferably yellow/light, it is a bit more expensive, but it has better quality), Plexiglas, etc. Please click here for a list of usable materials
      • Microfiber cloth/cotton earbuds & Rubbing Alcohol  to clean mirrors & lens.
      • Masking Tape for mirror alignment.
      • A General Screwdriver Set, Allen Key Set, small spanner set & Thin Nose Pliers for general servicing and mirror alignment. (available at all major hardware stores)

      Flatbed UV Printers important info:

      • These printers should not be confused with Direct-to-Garment or Vinyl Printers.

      Vinyl Cutters important info:

      The FTV14 (A4 Size) cannot be purchased separately, but is available with the Business Start-Up Combo 1. Please note that our vinyl cutters require a permanent USB connection during operation. ArtCut (machine software) requires a working CD/DVD Rom drive. Our vinyl cutters do not have a Print Function or Contour Cutting, but  It can cut the following:

      Flatbed Heat Press important info:

      • Flatbed heat presses can be used together with vinyl cutters to transfer images onto cotton, polyester, nylon and even leather. No ink is used during this process.
      • This process should not be confused with sublimation printing. We unfortunately do not sell sublimation products. 
      • A special heat transfer vinyl (HTV) must be used with our vinyl cutters to transfer images onto T-Shirts with a heat press.
      • A special heat resistant Teflon sheet must be purchased additionally to protect the material from heat. We do have reusable teflon sheets available for purchase @ R250 VAT Excl per sheet. 

        Machine Safety

        We are not responsible for any injuries or damage caused by the misuse of these machines, power surges or possible harmful/toxic materials used. We strongly advise the use of surge protected plugs. It is the buyer’s responsibility to ensure that the work space is adequate for the machine size/weight (both room size and door size) and that optimal ventilation is in place. Please enquire about machine/crate sizes & dimensions if you are not sure. Please also make sure that the materials used for cutting/engraving are “laser/vinyl safe” as some materials may melt, produce toxic fumes and damage the machines. Please click here for a list of "laser safe" materials. Material is not included in the price, but we do offer a range of laser cutting materials. Please feel free to enquire. Always ensure that there is nothing obscuring the laser beam path of a CO2 Laser Cutter/Engraver as it will burn/melt the object obstructing the beam path or even cause harm to you. 

        Service & Warranty

        Service

        Prices do not include a service warranty. Servicing will be done by us at extra cost (as already mentioned) or the buyer can do servicing. We will provide a step-by-step self-service guide in the user manual. 

        UV Printer Warranty

        • Please note that the UV Printers will have 1 year warranty.
        • Warranty does not cover the printer head.

        General Warranty - Factory Faults

        All our machines (except the UV Printers) have a  6 month warranty for any factory faults  Please note that faulty alignment of CO2 Laser Cutter/Engraver mirrors does not qualify as a factory fault.

        General Warranty does not Cover:

        1. Demo/used models (no warranty on secondhand machines, even if it was only used for demo's)
        2. Third-Party spare parts installed by any other person/company than Stampology (Pty) Ltd t/a Focal Tech or without our knowledge.
        3. Replacement of Consumables
        4. Damage during transportation/handling (Please help courier driver to unload during delivery)
        5. Electrical Surges - please use surge protection plugs.
        6. Water damage
        7. Natural Disasters
        8. Damage caused by not using the air-assist pump.
        9. Damage caused by the use of harmful/toxic materials. 

        CO2 Laser Tube Warranty

        Our CO2 Laser Cutters/Engravers have a 3 month warranty for the CO2 laser tube, given the laser tube has been operated under maximum working current to be qualified under laser tube warranty Laser tube life span will be shortened rapidly by long term usage under over-high current and will leave an identifiable mark and will not be protected by warranty. 

        CO2 Laser Tube Warranty does not Cover:

        1. Demo models (no warranty on secondhand machines, even if it was only used for demo's).
        2. Third-Party Tubes (no warranty on third-party tubes that are installed in our machines)
        3. Third-Party Machines (no warranty on our tubes that are installed in third-party machines).
        4. Damage during transportation/handling (Please help courier driver to unload during delivery).
        5. Electrical  Surges - please use surge protection plugs.
        6. Water damage
        7. Natural Disasters

         CO2 Laser Tube warranty will be null and void when:

        1. operating the machine without a continuous flow of  distilled water through the CO2 laser tube or with an air-bubble inside the tube.
        2. distilled water temperature is higher than 30ºC.
        3. normal tap water is used instead of distilled water.
        4. the CO2 Laser Tube got damaged/cracked during transportation/handling of machine.
        5. operating the machine with dirty mirrors/lens and without the air-assist pump.

        Important:

        1. In the event that a machine is defective under the warranty period and terms, the distributor has the right to repair, replace or refund (if not repairable or replaceable) the defective part/s. We reserve the right to use our own international supplier for any spare parts. Waiting period of 2-3 weeks may apply.
        2. During the warranty period, Stampology (Pty) Ltd t/a Focal Tech has sole repair rights on the purchased machine. The warranty will be annulled if the product has been disassembled, altered/modified, repaired or defective parts have been replaced by any other person/company (including the buyer) without prior knowledge or under the instruction of Stampology (Pty) Ltd t/a Focal Tech. Mirror alignment & maintenance may be done by the buyer.
        3.  Please note that we will require a video to be taken of your machine to determine possible defects or damages. 
        4. Should there be any defects on the purchased machine, it is the buyer’s responsibility to return the defective machine/parts in original packaging and original accessories to the distributor at the cost of the buyer.
        5. Faulty water- and air pumps must be reported within 7 days after a machine has been received, otherwise replacement costs will be charged.
        6. The warranty certificate should be kept throughout the warranty period and will only be valid if signed together with purchase agreement by both the buyer and distributor. In the event of certificate loss, a second will not be provided.
        7. The buyer must provide the warranty certificate during the request for repair, otherwise, the cost of repair will be charged. 
        8. There will be no time limit for repairs done on machines. Please allow us the time necessary to repair your machine and provide a good service.
        9. Warranty only valid in RSA, Namibia, Zimbabwe, Botswana, Mozambique, Lesotho and Swaziland and will be terminated in the event of emigration to any other country during the warranty period. Transportation and exportation of machine to another country will be done at buyer's own risk and at the buyer's own cost. 
        10. Normal warranty terms apply for combo deals.
        11. Insurance to be arranged by buyer. 

        Consumables - Vinyl Cutter Blades, Vinyl Cutter Blade Holder, Co2 laser tube (after 3 month period), mirrors, lenses, drag chains, air- and water pump, all pipes, screws/nuts/bolts, teflon sheet, UV ink, UV Printer Head and distilled water

        Factory faults - electrical/mechanical components

        Natural disasters - rain/flooding, thunder, wind, sun damage

        Third-Party Tubes - CO2 Laser Tubes not purchased from us

        Third-Party Machines - Machines not purchased from us.

        Spare Parts

        We will gladly import spare parts that are not in stock/locally available. Please bear in mind that spare parts purchased from other local suppliers will not have a warranty if used on any other machine than their own. We reserve the right to use our own suppliers for spare parts on machines that are still under warranty. Importation of spare parts will take 2-3 weeks from payment received.Please note that importation processes may be prolonged during the festive seasons in December (local) and February (international suppliers). We do not accept any liability for damage to the products during the transportation process. Installation of spare parts purchased from us at buyer's premises shall be charged at R7/km VAT Incl. This will exclude toll money. We do not guarantee that our spare parts or software will be compatible with any third-party machine (machines not purchased from us). Installation of third-party spare parts (spare parts not purchased from us) will be installed at buyer's own risk as we do not guarantee that it will be compatible with our machines. Installation of third-party spare parts on our machines will be charged at R520/hour VAT Incl and R7/km VAT Incl excluding toll money.

        Secondhand/Used/Demo Machines

        We do sell secondhand machines at discounted prices from time to time. Please note that there will be no warranty on secondhand machines, even if it was only used for demo's (as mentioned in the Service & Warranty Section). Panel colours of the encasing may also not match, but buyers will receive a fully functional machine. Normal Company Terms apply for secondhand machines. No down payment available for used machines. 

        Third-Party Machines 

        What is a Third-Party Machine?

        Any machine that was not purchased from us or our online shop. Machines that were purchased from another online shop/supplier or imported by the buyer will be defined as a "Third-Party Machine".

        Diagnosis & Repairs

        Diagnosis (including remote desktop support), repairs and calibrations done on any third-party machine shall be charged at R580 VAT Incl per hour for time spent on machine. This excludes costs of possible spare parts, our travel costs, etc. We do not guarantee that repairs done, software installed or advice given on third-party machines will be successful.

        Training for Third-Party Machines

        Training shall be given for third-party machines at R4300 VAT Incl (for a 3 hour session) and will be done at our premises and on our machines only (as already mentioned in the Basic Machine Training Section). Please note that our machines will differ from other machines, but all CO2 Laser Cutters work on the same principle. Thus, we will provide a user manual of our machines.

        The following will be INCLUDED in the basic machine training session price (R4300):

        • An English user manual of our own machine/similar to your machine compiled by Focal Tech
        • Basic machine Training session (3 hours)
        • A list of basic machine settings of our machines/similar.
        • Machine software used with our machines 

        The following will be EXCLUDED from the basic machine training session price (R4300):

        • Diagnosis, repairs, mirror alignments on a third-party machine (charged at R500 per hour as already mentioned)
        • Cost of possible spare parts
        • Designing software & training
        • Our traveling costs
